ELEMENTARY PROGRAMS
Grades K-6
Program Fee $2 per Student
Amazing Aircraft
Our most popular hands-on program! Learn the different kinds of aircraft and identify the parts of an airplane before building and flying a balsa glider. Grades 3-6 add control surfaces to guide their glider’s flight. It’s an amazing adventure in aviation!
Eye on the Sky
Investigate aviation weather with a hands-on exploration of common meteorological phenomena. Grades K-3 build models of different clouds and learn the water cycle’s role in cloud formation. Grades 4-6 become storm chasers and explore the secrets of thunderstorms.
JUNIOR HIGH PROGRAMS
Grades 5-8
Program Fee $2 per Student
Forces of Flight
Developed in partnership with NASA, students are introduced to the forces of flight through detailed experiments. Students predict, test and measure changing forces using test equipment. Results are shared as students discover how airplanes react to each force of flight. Optional pre- and post-visit activities are available to extend the experience into the classroom.
Skyways
Developed in partnership with NASA, Skyways provides students with challenging aviation situations that refine math skills and problem solving ability. Students use NASA-developed software to complete an Air Traffic Control simulation guiding aircraft through crowded airspace.
This activity builds on NASA’s “Line Up With Math” program, a set of free classroom materials that engage students in proportional reasoning in the context of Air Traffic Control. Visit NASA’s Smart Skies webpagefor more information on in-class applications.
