Dude, Where’s My Flying Car?

Future of Mobility

Presentation and Book Signing by
Tim Jackson

Silicon Valley is the epicenter for electric Vertical Take-off and Landing (eVTOL) vehicles, aka flying cars or passenger drones. Hiller Aviation Museum is proud to host a conversation covering the importance of this all-new industry that’s readying its launch of modern, convenient short-range flying machines that will serve as Urban Air Mobility (UAM).  eVTOLs will be both keen and key to reducing transportation emissions, speed short-range travel, decrease traffic fatalities, and reduce the growth of vehicles to already full roads.  Longtime automotive and aviation aficionados Charlie Vogelheim and Tim Jackson, will provide a summary of the coming historic transformation ahead in personal mobility. Participants will be able to engage in conversations about the future of aerial mobility.

The prospect of VTOLs becoming a reality is no longer a distant dream but a tangible realistic possibility. The history of and interest in flying cars, coupled with their portrayal in popular culture, has cemented their place in our collective consciousness. While challenges remain, the advantages to society are undeniable.

Jackson is the author of the book, “Dude, where’s my flying car?” due in March 2024.

Tim Jackson has served 30 years in the automotive industry and 35 years in association management. Of those, 18 years overlapped as Tim served as president/CEO of the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association (CADA), the trade association for 400 new car, truck, RV and motorcycle dealers across the state. Tim led the advocacy efforts for the statewide association winning 23 of 23 priority must-pass measures for the association. During his time at CADA, Tim produced the annual Denver Auto Show for 18 years, after New York and Chicago, the third oldest auto show in the country, which dates to 1902.

As a private pilot and aviation enthusiast as well as car aficionado, Tim became very interested in the now little known, yet fast-growing, start of an entirely new industry in mobility, that of Vertical Takeoff and Landing Vehicles (VTOLs), also frequently referred to as passenger drones or flying cars.
