For Young Aviators Ages 3-5

Little Explorers

Little Explorers is a weekly program geared specifically for our youngest members!

Children ages 3 to 5 and their co-pilots (adult helpers required) are invited to explore the wonders of aerospace during this fun, educational program. Space is limited at each program.

Cost per program is $20 per child and includes 1 caregiver. Museum Members save $2 off cost for each child per program. All families can save $3 off when registering for 4-classes at one time.

Program Dates

September Theme: Night Sky (Autumn Equinox)

Wednesday September 4 - Northern Lights

Seeing the Northern Lights is a truly special experience but can be tricky to arrange practically. Explorers will create their own images of light, inspired by the Northern Lights.

Wednesday September 11 - Telescopes

Explore how telescopes work as we prepare enter the Autumn Equinox and prepare for the Harvest Moon.

Wednesday September 18 - Harvest Moon

The Harvest Moon is named so because, historically, the light reflected from the full moon would be bright enough that farmers would be able to work in their fields late into the night to prepare for the harvest.

Wednesday September 25 - Moon Phases

Explorers will learn about the different phases of the moon and  journal their own observations.

October Theme: Gliders

Wednesday October 2 - Parts of an Aircraft

Explorers will learn the different parts of a glider and how they relate to aviation.

No class Wed. October 9th.

Wednesday October 16 - Glider in Virtual Reality

Explore the world from the view of a glider pilot.

Wednesday October 23 - Glider Launcher

Construct your very own glider launcher.

Wednesday October 30 - Glider Challenge

Discover what makes a paper airplane fly longer, farther, and higher with this design challenge - all you need is a piece of paper!
